Craig, who retired from full time Supercars driving at the end of last season, will move into an enhanced role as a Sachs technical and product expert, continuing the strong relationship that has been in place since 2013.
With 14 years’ experience racing on Sachs products and an early background as a mechanic before turning professional driver, Craig is wellequipped to talk with authority as the brand’s Product Expert.
As such, 44-year-old Craig will promote the Sachs product’s merits in customer-focused communications, explanatory information videos, regular appearances and training sessions with increased focus on workshop level.
“We are incredibly excited to continue and build upon our relationship with Craig Lowndes,” ZF Services Australia Managing Director, Mark Lowe, said.
“Now that he is no longer racing Supercars full time he won’t be on the track as often but he’s still the most recognisable face in the sport, and has become an integral part of our business. “We look forward to continuing to work with Craig as part of the Sachs family in this new chapter of our relationship.”
Craig is equally as excited about the continuation of the relationship with Sachs. “I have worked with the Sachs team for many years and I am thrilled that our relationship is continuing,” Craig said.
“I consider it a great honour to be the inaugural Sachs Product Expert in Australia where I will call on my personal experience racing on and working with the products when meeting Sachs’ customers and suppliers.”
During his time racing on Sachs, Craig contested 460 Supercar races, winning the Bathurst 1000 six times as well as another 49 races, and standing on the podium 160 times. He still has the opportunity to continue this success using Sachs when he steps into a co-driving role with the Triple Eight Race Engineering team in this year’s Supercars Pirtek Endurance Cup.
